Happiness....
The following was taken from an e-mail. To me, there is a bit of comfort in this part of the message, that its ok not to keep putting off your own happiness just to make things easier for someone who doesn't value happiness in the same way as you.
"Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that youhave and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with...and remember that time waits for no one. So, stop waiting...
Until your car or home is paid off
Until you get a new car or home
Until your kids leave the house
Until you go back to school
Until you finish school
Until you lose 10 lbs.
Until you gain 10 lbs.
Until you get married
Until you get a divorce
Until you have kids
Until you retire
Until summer
Until spring
Until winter
Until fall
Until you die
There is no better time than right now to be happy.
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
So work like you don't need money,
Love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one's watching."

Sand,
I love it! You are so absolutely right! People (myself included)have a very bad habit of waiting, often without even knowing exactly what they are waiting for. But we put off our dreams and hence, our happiness far too easily. Life is a journey, isn't it and not a destination and happiness is the point of living life.
That being said there is a destination that we do need to think about. The day when we are no longer able to wait because we are at the end. I, for one, do not want to get to the end of my life and realize that I haven't done what I wish I had done because I was waiting for something that might never come.
I love that "work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one is watching." It takes such bravery to do that. It is definitely worth the effort.
We should all stop waiting and take control of our happiness! It isn't easy for anyone, regardless of how it might look from the outside. So thank you for the inspiration to take responsibility for my own happiness and stop waiting.
